Spiritual Wisdom is Derived from the Bible

Developing personal wisdom that builds character, faith, determination, collaboration, and resilience takes time. We believe in first building biblical perspectives that work. We believe in building a spiritual consciousness strong enough to build resilience and character. We know our challenges but we need a higher consciousness higher than our challenges. There is wisdom in the Bible we can use to build our lives, communities, and our world.

Prayers Are A Strong Part of Ministering

Prayer is an essential element of hope. It helps us to let go of what we cannot change. It helps us to gain more insight on what God has invested within us. It helps to create miracles beyond our abilities. It helps us to open up to a power greater than ourselves. It empowers us beyond our limitations. It’s not the number prayers we pray, because its a lifestyle of depending on God.

How We Began and Our First Guest Group Mission We Sponsored from Daytona

Global Village began as a vision in the heart of Mrs. Willie Mae Church, Retired Director/Educator –Volusia County Schools and merged with the vision of her son Anthony Church Jr., Global Village Minister & wife Nankinga, UNICEF Program Evaluator/Auditor, to reach out and join others in the world to make it a better place to live, increase peace, build family structures and increase innovation globally. As most developing countries are seeking new ways to assist their attempts to join in this globalization trend, One to One Christian Family Counseling, Incorporated under the CEO Brian Church, the youngest of Rev. Anthony Church & Mrs. Church is on the move to building better communities worldwide starting in Uganda.

The Global Village vision took on a broader meaning in the hearts of the Church Family and their partners to the point a group from Daytona traveled to Kampala, Uganda’s neighboring villages and towns in August 2010 on a joint adventure and mission trip to help build communities whose average annual incomes and resources where below $1,060 per year in US dollars. The Daytona Group consisted of Bettye Bates, Retired City Council and Educator; Sallie Marshall , Retired Educator; Pat Bennett, Retired Music Educator, Dannielle Bennett (Pat’s Daughter) K-2 Teacher Educator in the NYC Schools and Rev & Mrs Church, Founders of One to One Christian Family Counseling, Inc. Global Village’s Daytona Group became a powerful village to vehicle a spiritual dream come true for many Ugandans whose faith never ceased to believe in a better world.

Although Uganda comparatively is twice the size of Pennsylvania, roughly the size of Great Britain or the state of Oregon in the US with borders to Congo, Sudan, Kenya, Tanzania and Rwanda, the country lies across the equator and is divided into three main areas: swampy lowlands, a fertile plateau with wooded hills and a desert region. The group traveled west and then north- west from the Capital city Kampala through the beautiful hills of African rural country some 3600 feet above sea level. Their experience led them through hills, mountains and plateaus that served as a beautiful tropical artistic backdrop on its equatorial terrain. Thank God, Uganda has beautiful & plenteous fertile soil, regular rainfall and good livestock for agriculture which accounts for more than 60% of the country’s income. However the work it takes to maintain a living from agriculture is only enough income to support their own survival and not for income generation because of the tremendous deficit of compensated jobs. However, Uganda has substantial natural resources untapped, but with the difficulty of development funds strong enough to barter the type of trade needed to increase development over their debt, the poverty seems to remain below poverty levels in most development countries and could be depressing for those who are not ready for the cultural change.

Regardless of the effects of past colonization and a long history of civil wars including the troubles experienced during the reign of Idi Amin that has caused Uganda’s development process to be put on hold for many years, you can see their current leadership doing all they can to build from the ashes. Despite Uganda’s economy has suffered from devastating economic policies and instability, leaving them as one of the world’s poorest countries, their growth is still growing despite the global downturn and regional instability. In other words with a striving economy and critically dire issues such as medical cost sharing in which the people are responsible for their own medicine, education, water supply, sanitation and a host of devastating health issues, Global Village and One to One has merged their prayers and efforts together with many others to save as many children and people possible to make spiritual globalization a reality. Global Village is a Christian Humanitarian Organization who firmly believes in globalization from a spiritual and humanistic perspective where the quality of life is made available for all people regardless of social & environmental prohibitions. The driver behind Global Village’s vision has become a banner of actions defined within Luke 10:25-37 in the Christian Bible, the Parable of the Good Samaritan. Global Village’s mission is to define the robbers that strip its peoples of their opportunities for the same quality of life opportunities universally and work with others to help create a global balance. Although the task is difficult, the doors are open and the work of the Daytona Group has made a significant impact.

The group visited 3 areas of extreme poverty but good moral, Hoima in Northwest Upper Country, Kyakatebe in west country and Kayunga town- Wakiso within the outskirts of Kampala. Each area was evaluated and highly suggested by Global Village’s Ugandan Coordinator who lives in Kampala and works full-time as Minister/Director for Holistic Restoration Ministries responsible for locating villages and areas deprived of vital resources as well exploited by HIV/Aids and other devastating health, educational and economic situations that has not been subsidized by government, non-government organizations or other humanitarian institutions. One to One Christian Family Counseling, Inc., has created a small village of believers and partners willing to take on mission projects for the next 5 years in the areas of their visit. This village of volunteers incorporates all willing volunteers, donations, sponsors and supporters including prayer partners who wants to make a difference with people who are making a difference to help make this world a better place. Village Daytona is any and every one who believes in the Parable of the Good Samaritan, although the Aug 2010 Daytona Group, that visit Uganda was small in number but powerful in representation as the group bore witness to their experience to report back to their churches, friends, agencies and organizations the works that’s truly needed.

A Brief - Actual Mission Report the Daytona Group Experienced:

The Daytona Group (in which will be called Village Daytona) completed 3 days of travel to different locations (Hoima in Northwest Upper Country, Kyakatebe in west country and Kayunga town- Wakiso within the outskirts of Kampala). We had two forms of transportation to travel comfortable. There were 7 of us from the US along with 2 drivers and the Ugandan Coordinator. My wife Nankinga was not able to make the 3 day travels due to completing her final papers for her post graduate study completion due on the 18th our last day of travels with the Daytona Group. The group missionaries --> Rev and Mrs Church, Bettye Bates, Salle Marshall, Pat Bennett and her daughter Dannielle who resides in Manhattan-Harlem, myself Anthony and Sarah our Uganda Coordinator.

For Starters we Global Village gave monies ahead of time to provide food for luncheons and to setup preparations for our visit. Due to the roads, traffic and conditions,,,,our travel time was drastically expanded....

The first day the group traveled 3 hours to a village in Hoima, which was a very long trip and our hired drivers drove in high speeds safely. The travel to Hoima and back to their hotels were extremely wearisome but extremely adventuresome and awesomely beautiful......The mountains and many species of trees, vegetation, birds were truly a awesome blessing. The work, ministering, testimonies, luncheon we provided as well the interactions were awesome. Our mission was to minister to a very very large number of widows (although we ministered to children and a few men in a very God-Inspired and awesome experience).......Widow Ministry will be defined in a separate report because of the number of widows has increased drastically as a direct result of the HIV/AIDS epidemic. We sowed a financial seed as a commitment seed, so we will follow up until this area of Hoima is built with a continuum ministry to not only ministry and restore the widows but also to build a Church and minister to the entire community to restore the Family Structure as well make the community more self-productive and prosperous.....(This community needs a lot of work and commitment) This project will be called the Hoima Project and will need a separate group of US supporters to build and follow-up.........estimated support on the top of my head --> 50,000 US funds startup, Prayer Ministry Support, 5,000 bibles in the village language, build a church/community center, ministry development to build boys and men, ministry support to continue the work with Widows which are very large in count in whom our Uganda Coordinator is currently traveling from Kampala to minister and bring hope and restoration. The current place of meeting, counseling and minister is outside a personal residence. (This ministry needs to be built phase by phase with much prayer, planning, Word (spiritual principles), commitment and love) This is a good opportunity to see the Works of God manifested in the real. The need identified are extreme impoverished.

The second day the group traveled 30 minutes to a village area in Wakiso. The name of the Church whom we partnered with that has our similar visions is Ark of the Lord's Covenant Ministry which is located 9 miles from Kampala on Hoima Road in the heart of Kayunga town of Wakiso town council. This church ministry cares for the vulnerable such as the widows, orphans and elderly that are hungry and homeless. Also the ministry in Wakiso ministers to all everyone in Kayunga town district through preaching the gospel ( a full description of this ministry will be attached in a separate report). However, the ministry in their current phase of development has base structure that needs much development which includes a Church Santuary, Office, Medical Clinic and a Christian School. The group was entertained by this ministry to show their gifts, skills, talents, ministries, christian school, medical clinic and appreciation. This mission in Wakiso was chosen by Mrs Church and Rev Anthony Church together as the ministry to build and support. God has touched the hearts of Rev Anthony Church and Mrs. Church in a very powerful way. We were able to minister in word, encouragement and are sowing a financial seed as a start to complete the pledge made by Rev and Mrs Church. ..........estimated support of the entire vision is about 100,000 US funds, Prayer Ministry Support, 5,000 bibles in the village language, build a Christian School to replace the barn stable structure school, and build onto the existing structure (Medical Clinic)........ministry development to build boys and men and continued ministry support. This ministry has a 5 year commitment plan and the needs identified are very impoverished.

The third day the group traveled 3 hours to a village in Kyakatebe (cha-ka-tek-bee) around Mubende- Fort Portal road in Mityana District. The Church itself is on 4 acres of land with a temporary structure given to them by Godfrey SSembatya in whom I found a very good, pleasant and good man. This particular mission and ministry is special to me (Anthony) because of the location, people, needs and opportunity to see the Works of God manifested. This particular remote place of the country has one source of water in which a few boys await for long periods of time for the water to spring from a seemingly inoperable well where the water is underground in a underground spring.....so they can come and park all night to wake up at 6 am when the spring is active and grab the water for the people.....otherwise the people will have to walk 15 miles to get their water. The vegetation for all types of vegetable and fruits were plenteous and well-spread. The gospel was preached by the Daytona Group and the Uganda Coordinator. Although there were many widows, there were also many young men and women and children. Everyone was eager to hear what the Lord would say to them. They brought the group their gifts of appreciation for the support, funds and visitation...the gifts consisted of eggs, fruits, baskets, a rabbit and a chicken. We were most humbled and blessed. The ministry mission in Kyakatebe is a huge task with much identified needs....that will be defined in a later report........estimated support of this vision is about 100,000 US funds, Prayer Ministry Support, 5,000 bibles in the village language, build a Christian school, build a Church, build a well to extract water and develop a sanitation system, build a medical clinic, etc.....ministry development to build boys and men and continued ministry support. This ministry has a 5 year commitment plan and the needs identified are very impoverished. We also sowed a financial seed to the ministry to assert our commitment.
